Study explores broccoli powder supplementation in exercise

A study published in Antioxidants found that short-term supplementation with broccoli powder enriched with mustard seed powder increased sulforaphane levels in healthy men but did not affect oxidative stress, performance or recovery following a mild aerobic exercise test. While sulforaphane is known for its antioxidant properties and potential health benefits, the researchers concluded that its acute effects may not be evident in the context of mild exercise where the body’s natural antioxidant systems suffice.
