Japan tourism arrivals hit July record despite weather disruption, quake fears

With 3.43 million foreign visitors in July, Japan's tourism industry set a record and saw a 4.4% year-over-year increase. Growth was maintained by a weak yen and more tourists from China and the US, despite drops in arrivals from South Korea and Hong Kong as a result of typhoon disruptions and earthquake worries. There were 24 in the first seven months of 2025.
